UCF Pegasus in the Clouds - Stars, Space and Astronomy

Think astronauts and engineers are the only ones who make an impact on the space industry? Think again. Earning a degree in the arts, business and hospitality, as well as engineering and science, can help you make a giant leap toward a career that bridges the gap between the humanities and space technology.

A Next-generation Research University

Founded in 1963 with the mission to provide talent for Central Florida and the growing U.S. space program, UCF has been making an impact on our state, our nation — and outer space — ever since. UCF faculty are part of several NASA missions, including OSIRIS-REx and New Horizons. The Florida Space Institute, based at UCF, is made up of researchers and educators from UCF and other State University System of Florida institutions. And UCF leads the science mission at the Arecibo Observatory一道本不卡免费高清, a National Science Foundation-supported facility that is home to one of world’s largest radio telescopes. Dedicated on April 25, 1996, the Robinson Observatory provides research and educational opportunities for students and the community alike. The facility, which houses a 20-inch telescope, offers students a training ground to collect solid data and conduct original research. And the popular “,” a series of free events held throughout the academic year, invites the community to learn more about the solar system from knowledgeable volunteers.
